Eligibility & Entry

In compliance with the Richardson Trophy Deed of Gift, each Association which is a member in good standing of YRUGL may select a skipper who regularly resides in its area and is a member in good standing of any yacht club which is a member of such Association.   The selection process shall use such standards as reasonable to select a skipper who has demonstrated chanpionship ability in yacht racing conducted by such Association within two years immediately preceding the races in which he or she is to compete.   Such skipper may select as crew only members who are regularly resident in the area of such Association, or who have regularly crewed for the skipper during the preceding year.

Rules

The 2000 Richardson Trophy Regatta will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS), 1997 - 2000, as amended by Appendix C, the prescriptions of the United States Sailing Association, excluding Appendix R, the Yacht Racing Union of the Great Lakes amended Deed of Gift (1967) for the Richardson Trophy, and by the Sailing Instructions.   This Regatta is designated Category A in accordance with the RRS Appendix G3.

Yachts, Crew and Racing

Match racing will take place in NCYC.   Boats will be provided.   The boats shall be Hobie 33's.

The participating crew shall be limited to the skipper and four (4) crew.

Depending upon the weather, the Organizers will attempt to sail a double round robin series.

Notice of intent to enter should be received August 19, 2000.   Crew lists shall include names, addresses, Association and club affiliations.   These lists must be provided to the Richardson Chairman before competition begins.

Fees

An entry fee of $350 USD must accompany each Entry Form.

Each team shall provide a damage deposit of $500 USD no later than check-in.

Please submit separate checks for entry fee and damage deposit.   Attributable damage will be charged appropriately.   Non-attributable damage or equipment loss will be paid equally from the damage deposits of all teams.   Unused damage deposits will be returned by October 16, 2000.

Regatta Site and Facilities

North Cape Yacht Club is situated on the West shore of Lake Erie approximately five (5) miles South of Monroe, Michigan.   North Cape Yacht Club is well known on Lake Erie as an outstanding sailing club and the hospitality of our facilities and members is second to none.

The race area for the Richardson Trophy will be situated approximately one (1) mile off the shore of the North Cape Yacht Club facilities.   North Cape will provide spectator boats for those who wish to observe the racing.

Scoring

Racing Rules of Sailing, 1997 - 2000, Appendix C, C12 and C13 shall be used.

Release

I agree to be bound by the rules and regulations of this event.   In consideration of this entry, I agree to save harmless North Cape Yacht Club, Inter-Lake Yachting Association, Yacht Racing Union of the Great Lakes, United States Sailing Association, its organizers and their respective agents, officials and representatives from and against all claims, actions, costs, expenses and demands in respect to death, injury, loss or damage to my person or property, however caused, arising out of or in connection with my taking part in this event not withstanding that the same may be caused or occasioned by negligence of the same bodies, or any of them, or their agents, officials, servants or representatives. &nbsp I further understand and agree that this release is binding upon myself, my heirs, executors and assigns.
